Caving

The alluring, challenging and mysterious experience offered by the caves in Eastern Visayas will satiate the unending quest of adventurers seeking out the unexplored wonders of creation.  The 840-hectare protected area of Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park in Basey, Samar and the cavernous magnificent caves of Calbiga, with its karst of 999 sq. kms. will enchant the discriminating adventurers.

Fit for both amateur and professional spelunkers, other activities are also possible in these caves.

Trips are customized and can be arranged with DOT-8, the DENR-8 or the local government units.

Caution: Travel tips are strictly to be followed.

 

Diving

Scattered throughout Eastern Visayas are unexplored, well-preserved dive sites known only to a few adventurous divers... an entirely different world lurks under the island of Limasawa in Southern Leyte, where walls of indescribable array of corals wait to be admired by divers.  The nearby town of Padre Burgos also offers beautiful dive sites visited only by a few - the Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte beckons to the amateur divers.  Here also, the dolphins coming from San Bernardino Strait frolick with divers and local travelers.

All trips need local dive experts for maximum enjoyment.

 

Surfing

Known to an "elite few" - the Pacific coastal towns of Eastern Samar is a haven for surfers amateurs and professionals alike.  The remoteness of these towns give the surfers a "proprietary" sense of the enormous Pacific untamed waves, challenging surfers for an ultimate experience.

Thoughtfully designed schedules and friendly local people await adventurous surfers.  Contact the office of the Provincial Government of Eastern Samar.

 

Trekking

Take an intimate, personalized travel to commune with nature to the Mahagnao Volcano National Park in Burauen, Leyte.  Blessed with two inactive volcanoes, the lush vegetation provides enormous peace and tranquility as a balm to modern life.  Hot springs, narrow pathways and sun-beamed river banks make a unique soft adventure for amateur hikers.  The fresh mountain air adds an invigorating experience to the trekker.

Select a day and a custom-built itinerary will be designed by the local government unit in Burauen to suit your personal interests.

Best in the summer months of March to June.  DENR-8 and DOT-8 will be around to facilitate your travel needs.
